CableJive Announces dockBoss+ iPhone 5 Kit: 30-pin Dock Adapter for Lightning Devices

Malden, MA - September 27, 2012 - Today CableJive LLC announces the dockBoss+ iPhone 5 Kit, an adapter that connects Apple's new iPhone 5 and other Lightning-connector devices with existing iPod docking stations, including home, portable, and automobile systems with 30-pin connectors.

Developed by CableJive, dockBoss+ makes it simple to charge and listen to the iPhone 5, iPod Touch 5G and iPod nano 7G on the myriad of accessories available on the market today. dockBoss+ works with both analog as well as digital audio docking devices.

While the iPhone 5's all-digital connector is pushing toward more digital audio accessories, most docking systems available on the market today use analog audio. The dockBoss+ iPhone 5 kit comes with a 1/8" audio connector to connect audio from the iPhone 5 headphone jack to the 30-pin adapter. Charging is provided by connecting the USB cable provided with the iPhone 5 to the USB port on the dockBoss+.

For digital audio systems, the USB cable provided with the iPhone 5 can be simply plugged into the dockBoss+ USB port, and the dockBoss+ attached to the connector on the system to enjoy crystal-clear digital audio. Out of the box, the iPhone 5's included cable provides charging and high quality digital audio when connected to a digital speaker system through the dockBoss+.

"The iPhone 5 and dockBoss+ work so beautifully across both analog and digital audio accessories. My Bowers and Wilkins Zeppelin Mini sounds amazing." said Zack Lombard, Manager of Operations at CableJive. "I've always got my iPhone plugged into my car, my speakers at work and at home, and I'm glad I can do that now with the iPhone 5."

Apple introduced a new dock connector with their latest mobile products, the iPhone 5, iPod Touch 5G and iPod nano 7G. The Lightning connector is smaller, more reliable, and fully digital, but unfortunately is also incompatible with the previous 30-pin connector that Apple has used for nearly 10 years. The new Lightning connector is adaptive, meaning it can provide many signals including power, USB data, and digital audio. Apple has announced adapters to connect to older accessories will be available in October.
