This adapter isn't compatible with the Bose SoundDock (Series 1), use the Dock Input Cable to get auxiliary input into your Bose SoundDock.

The CableJive Universal Dock Converter provides unlimited possibilities for harnessing iPod and iPhone docks. Adapt your iPod dock connector to charge a Zune or Zen, or pipe sound from an XM sattelite radio into your stereo via the iPhone dock.

One end of the converter is a female iPod/iPhone connector for attaching to your home, car, or portable device with an iPod/iPhone dock. The other end of the converter is a standard USB female, and standard 1/8" (3.5mm) audio female connector. The Universal Dock Converter simply pulls the USB and audio parts of the iPod/iPhone connector out into standard USB and audio connections.

A few examples:

Charge a USB device from an iPod dock: Connect the Universal Dock Converter to your USB-enabled iPod connector in your home, car, or boat to give you an extra place to charge.

Charge and listen through Apple's Universal Dock: If you have a home stereo wired up with Apple's dock, drop the Universal Dock Converter on and power any USB device while listening to audio through the dock.

Listen to non-iPod audio: This is rare, but on some systems the Universal Dock Converter will let you bypass the need for an attached iPod/iPhone and play audio from another source. Examples include the harman/kardon Go+Play, Enfig auto interfaces, and Logjam auto interfaces.

Because the Universal Dock Converter is the most "hobbyist" product CableJive has offered we will be as flexible as possible with returns, provided you are open about how it has or hasn't worked with your setup. We also have launched a beta CableJive forum in hopes that we can quickly make information available, and encourage discussion between folks using the Universal Dock Converter.

To get USB functionality through the converter, your iPod/iPhone dock must be USB-enabled. Many devices have this, but there are just as many that don't provide USB power or data. Check with the manufacture of your device before purchasing the Universal Dock Converter. An alternative, guaranteed to work, is the CableJive Charge Converter that makes sure USB power is provided.
