My aftermarket stereo has a USB input on the front face (not a power source, just an MP3 input). I would like to dock my iPhone 3GS and run audio to the stereo's USB input (no big deal). I can test this approach with a standard iPhone USB cable... but it will not charge the phone.

I was thinking about something like the USB + Line out, but my radio does not have an aux input. What I really need is a USB + USB out instead of a USB + Line out, but I know that would be a highly specialized piece.

One possible hack might involve CableJive's Charge Converter along with (dare I mention...) SendSation's PocketDock Combo (http://www.sendstation.com/us/products/ ... combo.html). I know it sounds crazy, but I think this would give me a "classic" firewire power feed with a USB audio out. I know that the 3GS doesn't support firewire, but the Charge Converter might fool the iPhone into thinking that it is receiving a USB power source while the PocketDock Combo is drawing the USB audio source.

Too crazy?... or worth a try?

thanks,

This is certainly an interesting scenario. Unfortunately, it is not something we have the ability to test here, so we can't really be sure about what may or may not work. However, your welcome to try any of our products that you think might work as a solution. You can return the products you order if they are incompatible with your system or anticipated solution within 60 days from date of purchase (as long as they aren't damaged). If you do end up trying anything, post your results here. We'd love to hear them.

You need a auxiliary audio interface most factory stereos have that plug. I like this one because it is a high-end reciever and will give you better quality then most other decks.
